Einfach so.

English Version:

When Music goes under your skin – Imany at Muffathalle München

Support-act Faada Freddy who came on stage with his guitar only, knew perfectly well how to impress the audience at Muffathalle. Music which is so easy can be so beautiful. He had a lot of fun on stage and his remarkable voice is definitely a recommendation.

Imany who caused a sensation over the last year came to the Muffatwerk for the second time – this evening at the great hall which was minimized by a curtain. So there was the best atmosphere arranged for a sensational and exeptional voice.

At the first moment on stage Imany seemed a bit inconspicuous or obviously reserved so the stage appealed to be too big for her. But this impression was quite wrong because after a few beats the stage was hers.

Her voice strokes, warms, touches, goes under your skin and waters the eyes. For no reason. Beautiful, enchanting, unfussy and very wise in her own way. Imany sings as if she had seen everything, as if there was nothing she had not experienced yet. But there is no melancholic or bittersweet righteousness or touch in her voice but she sings straight. One has to believe her, believe in her words. It is bohemian-like, charming and nearly painfully honest and direct. Nothing remains unsaid though she does not speak much.

One can see that she adores being on stage while the band stays at the background. Some passages seem unreal – she sings without instrumental backing so one thinks that the world must have stopped all of a sudden, one can hardly breathe. Only then when the guitar, the cello, bass and drums begin one knows that this is not a dream – too beautiful to be real, too spheric for that you can put into words without ending up in a hopeless empty phrase.

So the singer let her fans go out into a balmy spring evening – certainly with an earworm of the hit „You will never know“ which one can almost declare to a hymn of the generation.

Imany’s music makes you feel free and makes you forget the daily worries about everything and nothing; not least, it gives the opportunity to not think about what may come tomorrow.(A.E.)
